DESCRIPTION:In this Learning Series webinar\, Professor Samar Aoun will share key findings and advice on enabling social networks to support people living with ALS/MND\, making palliative care more widely accessible. She is a global leader in the areas of public health palliative care and compassionate communities research and has influenced rapid system change and informed practice and policy at the national and international levels. Among numerous awards\, Professor Aoun received the Medal for Excellence from the European Society for Person Centered Healthcare in 2018\, the Centenary Medal in 2003 from Australia’s Prime Minister and more recently 2023 Western Australia’s Australian of the Year.
