“Day in the Life Of” Suite

One of the Most Powerful Experiences at the Allied Professionals Forum

What does daily life with ALS/MND truly look like, and how can care, technology, and innovation make it better?

The “Day in the Life Of” (DILO) Suite is a signature immersive experience at the Allied Professionals Forum that brings these questions to life in a practical, human way. Designed for healthcare professionals, allied specialists, researchers, people living with ALS/MND, caregivers, and industry partners, it recreates key moments in a typical day and showcases solutions that can support independence, communication, comfort, mobility, and quality of life.

Step Inside Real-World Solutions

As attendees move through the Suite, they experience a hands-on journey through the daily realities of living with ALS/MND and explore tools that can make a meaningful difference at every stage.

Featured technologies and solutions have included:

  • Eye gaze communication systems
  • Voice cloning technologies
  • Mechanical eating aids
  • Smart-home accessibility tools
  • Adaptive travel equipment
  • Mobility and positioning supports
  • Nutrition and swallowing solutions
  • Practical tools for caregivers

Throughout the experience, specialists are available for live demonstrations, practical guidance, and one-to-one conversations.

Participants consistently value the DILO Suite because it offers something rare: the chance to connect clinical knowledge with everyday life. They leave with practical ideas they can apply immediately, new approaches to patient-centred care, and firsthand experience with emerging technologies.

For many attendees, the DILO Suite has become one of the most memorable parts of the Allied Professionals Forum, offering a type of learning that traditional sessions cannot.

Whether you work in clinical care, research, advocacy, caregiving, or product development, the experience provides insights that stay with you long after the conference ends.
